The Civil Aviation Ministry has approved a proposal for setting up of water aerodromes in the country.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation today said it is watching the developments at Jet Airways, which has delayed the announcement of June quarter results.
"All scheduled airline operators have been remitting the RCS levy. Total funds collected from RCS levy till August 3, 2018 is Rs 268.10 crore approximately," Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha told the Lok Sabha.
Domestic airlines have employed 298 foreign pilots and the carriers have been advised to reduce their dependence on overseas pilots, according to the government.
Air India has not paid salaries to its employees for the month of July and is yet to communicate the possible date of payments, sources said.
DGCA has suspended the flying licence of two Jet Airways pilots for attempting to take off an aircraft from a taxiway parallel to the runway at Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia last week.
Jet Airways Riyadh-Mumbai flight overshot the runway while trying to take off, an official said here.
"A high level taskforce to develop the roadmap with implementable recommendations has been set up under the chairmanship of the Civil Aviation Minister," Prabhu told members in Rajya Sabha.
The govt said that it is trying to come out with a policy on having joint ventures between state and central governments to promote air connectivity under the UDAN scheme.
The govt sought Parliament's approval for Rs 980 crore as supplementary grant for equity infusion in Air India which is grappling with financial crunch.
