Wake-Up Call for Students: How a UP Girl’s JEE Tragedy Sparked Gautam Adani’s Urgent Message!

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his condolences following the death of an 18-year-old girl in Gorakhpur who reportedly committed suicide after failing to pass the JEE-Mains exam.
In response to the incident, Gautam Adani urged students to recognise that life is much larger than any exam.
Gautam Adani wrote on social media platform X, “It is heartbreaking to see a daughter go away like this under the weight of expectations.” Life is bigger than any exam, and parents must understand and explain this to their children… My only request to all of you is that you never consider failure to be the final destination. Because life always offers a second chance…!”
The JEE Mains results, which were announced on February 11, left the student distraught over her performance, with reports indicating that her disappointment led to the drastic decision.
Girl’s apology to parents
The student reportedly hailed from Mishraulia village in the Sant Kabir Nagar district and attended a private coaching institute in Gorakhpur. She left a note for her parents, apologising for her low exam score and inability to “fulfil” their dreams, according to India Today.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for the BE/BTech paper of the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE Mains) exam on February 11. The results for the second paper, BArch/BPlanning, will be announced later.
The first paper, held from January 22 to 29, saw over 13 lakh students register, with approximately 12.5 lakh taking the exam.
This year, 14 students received the highest score of 100, including five from Rajasthan and two each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The exam was held in 15 international cities, including Doha, Dubai, and Washington, and was administered in 13 languages via computer.
Four of the five Rajasthan candidates who received perfect scores in the first edition of the engineering entrance exam, JEE-Main 2025, are students at a Kota-based coaching institute.
