Washington Shockwave: PM Modi’s Meeting with NSA Michael Waltz Sends Ripples Through Global Politics!

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz in Washington, D.C.

The bilateral meeting between Narendra Modi and Michael Waltz was held at Blair House, where the prime minister is staying.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval also attended the meeting.

This will be the two leaders’ first bilateral talks since Trump took office for a second term last month.

Modi will meet with the US president as well as Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Indian-origin entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

PM Modi’s US trip

On Wednesday night (IST), Prime Minister Modi arrived in the United States for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s ambassador to the US, and other officials greeted him at the airport.

He was also greeted by a large contingent of the Indian diaspora. Modi expressed his gratitude to them on X, writing, “A warm reception in the winter chill! Despite the cold weather, the Indian diaspora in Washington, DC has given me a very special welcome. I am grateful to them,” Modi wrote on X.

After arriving in Washington, DC on Thursday morning (IST), the prime minister met with Tulsi Gabbard, the newly elected director of national intelligence.

PM Narendra Modi shared a glimpse of his meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, saying he discussed India-US friendship with her and congratulated her on becoming Trump’s Director of National Intelligence.

“I met with the Director of National Intelligence of the United States, @TulsiGabbard, in Washington, DC. congratulated her on her confirmation. Discussed various aspects of the India-USA friendship, of which she has always been a strong supporter.”
